Gaia Olea was born out of owner’s love for essential oils, herbs, vegetable oils, clays and other natural ingredients in Kalavasos, a small village in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. After studying and experimenting with these natural ingredients for a few years, in 2013 Gaia Olea started sharing products with the rest of the world.

Their soaps, balms, healing salves, therapeutic oils, lotions and other body care products are handmade exclusively with natural ingredients and in small batches, filled with metta vibrations.

This project reflects the love for mother nature and the need to ensure that the products do not harm people, animals or the environment, so every effort is being made to source organic, fair trade, sustainable, ethically and locally produced ingredients when possible.

Main ingredients used are olive oil, beeswax, pure essential oils and hand picked herbs from Cyprus. We also incorporate selected ingredients from around the world such as activated hemp charcoal from Japan, gardenia oil from Tahiti, shea butter from Africa, neem oil from India, green clay from France and turmeric from Thailand.

Most of the packaging used is recyclable and/or reusable and none of the products has been tested on animals. All of the products contain exclusively 100% natural ingredients and do not contain any palm oil, parabens, petroleum, silicones, sulphates, phthalates, synthetic preservatives or fragrances.

Gaia Olea is run by Elsie, an aromatherapist and a holistic therapies practitioner with the help of her partner Zenonas. But so many friends are involved in our project, either by providing us with raw materials they produce, or by helping us with creating our labels, packaging, photography and website, so we feel that Gaia Olea is a project based on cooperation between friends.

The name we choose for our products is a combination of two beautiful words; Gaia, which in Greek mythology is goddess Earth, the Mother of all and Olea is the scientific name for Olive Tree.
